Top 5 Foods That Cause Acne
Acne is very
common especially among young people and one of the best ways to prevent acne pimples and breakouts is to avoid foods that cause acne. It is important to note that food is not the direct cause of acne, but there are certain foods that are known to exacerbate the conditions that cause acne.
1) Dairy Products – Milk and dairy products like ice cream, butter, cheese top the list of foods that cause acne. Dairy products also contain fats that are derived from the milk of pregnant cows is rich in hormones. Therefore, avoid high-fat dairy products to prevent acne and rashes.
2) Fats – trans fat-rich foods are not only unhealthy but are among the worst foods that cause acne. Trans fats in foods can affect insulin levels in the blood leading to increased hormonal activity. This leads to increased production of sebum rashes and acne. Avoid foods high in trans fat items, such as donuts, cakes, cookies, frozen and packaged food, potato chips, fast food, etc. to avoid any interruption in the future.
3) Processed foods – processed products are the main culprits in terms of foods that cause acne is concerned. More processed foods are difficult to digest leading to toxins and allergic reactions have increased so that the formation of buttons increased.
4) Caffeine – Caffeine is bad for acne-prone skin because it increases stress levels and altered sleep. Therefore, avoid foods high in caffeine like chocolate, coffee, energy drinks, soft drinks and tea to prevent pimples and redness.
5) Alcohol – Alcohol is another food that can cause increased acne and rashes. So, avoid binge drinking to prevent future breakouts.
